Your wedding day is the most important day of your life, and as such, it requires a considerable amount of planning. Certainly, a few couples pop into the register office, get married, and then retreat to the local pub for a few drinks, but for most couples it is a day of great celebration. That means a lot of money.
A survey of nearly 5,500 couples by Bridebrook in January this year established that the average cost of a wedding in 2021, including engagement ring and honeymoon, was £20,254. Of course, a lot of that money was spent on the wedding reception. There is the cost of the hire of the venue, food, drink, possibly a band or a comedian to entertain, and naturally, the décor. The décor also includes the table decorations which are a big part of the overall plan because everyone is going to sit down at the tables for quite some time.
The event table centrepieces are a critically important focal point and will often include large flower decorations at intervals along the tables if they are in long lines, or in the centre of each table if they are square or rectangular and each seat four to six people.
Flowers In Season
Here is a tip that we have mentioned before but is well worth repeating if you want to keep costs as low as possible, and that is to use flowers that are in season. For example, if you are getting married in March or April, a florist can do wonders with daffodils. They are very cheap and look stunning. But if you insist on having orchids, although they will look great too, they will cost a small fortune because they have to be flown in from overseas.
Of course, the décor can vary enormously based on the country of your birth or descent. At Kenza Creations we provide quite a lot of African event décor at weddings of descendants from the Windrush generation.
Over the years that we have been in the business of providing the décor for weddings – and not just weddings, but many other important events too – we have built up a huge stock of decorative items from around the world which we keep on our premises here in Newham, East London.
We are happy for couples planning a wedding, or any other event, to take a look through our warehouse where you can get some great inspiration for your special day.
